Sunshine Coast Diving
The home of the Humpback Whale, Sunshine Coast Diving is not to be missed. Dive Ex-HMAS Brisbane, Flinders Reef Marine Park, and more. For the opportunity to glide alongside majestic whales and listen to their songs, you can expect an experience of a lifetime.
Off the edge of the Sunshine Coast is one of the best wreck dives in Australia, the Ex-HMAS Brisbane. The sunken vessel is only 2.9 nautical miles offshore, making it easy to access at any time of the year. An abundance of marine life has inhabited the ship, as well as large bull and eagle rays, angler fish, lionfish, blennies, nudibranchs, sea hares, squid, and schools of fish like the Red Emperor. Importantly, an octopus has claimed the deck as his home and a turtle has staked his claim too. Hard and soft coral have formed in and around the wreck, making this a fascinating world to explore.
Flinders Reef is a protected marine sanctuary nestled within Moreton Bay Marine Park. Known for being one of Queensland’s most stunning diving sites, you’ll experience an extraordinary world of natural beauty. Named after Matthew Flinders, the explorer who led the first crew to circumnavigate Australia, we love this site for its pure waters and excellent visibility. With caves, walls, and pinnacles, all packed with coral and plant life, this is a diving destination you won’t forget.
