Lush Green Golf Courses Set Against Natural Backdrops
The stunning environment of luscious greenery, pristine shorelines and eternal sunshine is what makes the Sunshine Coast a go-to Queensland destination, but the golfing here is also a strong drawing card. The region is arguably one of the best places to tee off in Queensland. All the courses are set amidst picturesque surroundings, whether it be nestled in the valley of a mountain, fringed with trees of a national park, or set on the hills of the hinterland.
A 15-minute drive from Monaco Caloundra will take you to one of the Sunshine Coast’s favourite courses at Pelican Water Golf Club. The 18-hole course is the first ever Greg Norman-designed golf course. With a stunning backdrop of the Glasshouse Mountains, teeing off on this fairway is sure to be a memorable experience.
Further north on the Sunshine Coast is a golfer’s dream in Twin Waters. The Twin Waters Golf Club is home to an 18-hole, par 72 championship golf course. Designed by British Open champion Peter Thomson and partner Mike Wolveridge, the course proves to be more challenging than it appears. You can get a bit of practice before teeing off at one of the very few Aquatic Driving Ranges in Australia too.
